Robert Thuillier
1930
In 1930, Robert Thuillier decided to found his own shirtmaking company in the 8th arrondissement, in the heart of the golden triangle.
He is supported by his sons, Jacques, René and André, as well as by his wife Gabrielle, a seamstress by trade.
At that time, the whole family worked in the workshop located at the back of the shop. After several years of work and perfecting his know-how, Robert Thuillier obtained the prestigious diploma of "designer blouse maker".

The Elysée
1974
In 1960, the house moved to 9 rue Marbeuf. André, Robert Thuillier's son, took over the reins of the company. Very quickly, the Thuillier house dressed the President of the Republic, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, who had just been elected.
Thuillier then became the reference address for the Élysée, but also for royal and princely figures such as King Hassan II, who had his shirts made on rue Marbeuf, as well as Prince Pierre de Polignac and Prince Bandar ben Sultan ben Abdelaziz Al Saoud.

The President
1981
Over the years, the Thuillier house has dressed many public figures, including Anthony Quinn, Jacques Martin(A very famous animator from the 1980s), and Jean Dutourd, member of the Académie française.
But it was in 1981 that one of the house's longest collaborations began with President François Mitterrand, who remained loyal to the house until his death in 1996.

Tribute to Mandela
1996
During an official visit, Jacques Chirac, then President of the French Republic, welcomed South African President Nelson Mandela and gave him a Thuillier shirt as a gift, an object of French refinement.
Sleeping Beauty
1998 - 2015
In 1998, Robert Thuillier's children retired and decided to close the house due to a lack of succession. A significant date in its history, rich in Parisian craftsmanship.

The Renaissance
2015
After years of silence, the Thuillier house reappears under the Thuillier Paris brand, reconnecting with its bespoke shirts which had made its reputation decades before.

The Presidents' Shirting
2018
In April 2018, Thuillier returned fully to its roots by dressing the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron. The house made its shirts as well as its iconic ties in blue silk grenadine, thus perpetuating its prestigious heritage.

The Spirit of Entrepreneurship
2016-2022
It was on this date that Mathias Vandaele first heard about the Thuillier house and its history. But it was not until 2022, while he was still working at Charvet, that he had the opportunity to acquire the Thuillier Paris brand. Driven by a deep passion, he decided to embark on this adventure. Now looking to the future, he took the reins of the house with a clear ambition:
To promote Thuillier Paris throughout the world by highlighting the artistic craftsmanship and timeless quality of its products.
